On Tuesday, February 8, 2022, Topsey, a cat who had been missing for seven months, ran onto the field of a football game at Hillsborough Stadium in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England. She was known as the “pitch invasion cat” by the BBC.
The cat interrupted the game when she showed up, and Jason Kerry, one of the players, sprinted after her. The crowd applauded in relief when he was able to pick her up.
Then, a match veterinarian took Topsey to the hospital for serious wounds that may have been caused by a dog attack. She would spend the night in the vet’s care, which was fortunately.
