A message from shelter networkers about a feline family in need of a foster home was found by Jen Marder of Wrenn Rescues.
She shared the post with the rescue community at the time because she was busy caring for other foster cats. “They looked adorable. I had faith that someone would intervene “Love Meow received from Jen.
Jen noted that the family of five were still waiting at the shelter after two weeks when her foster children were prepared to move into their forever homes. “I had to take action. I consented to taking them.”
The mother cat and her kittens were severely underweight and malnourished, and they were all suffering from various degrees of upper respiratory infections. Clock, the litter’s runt who was much smaller than her siblings (Hickory, Dickory, and Dock), was one of them.”
“I was astonished when they first arrived here. They were in such poor condition. Clock weighed the same as a 3-week-old while the kittens were between 6 and 8 weeks old.”
Goose, the tiny mother cat, was almost a year old and only weighed 5.4 pounds. She is a sweet girl who loves to brush against me and lie curled up on my leg, despite everything she must have been through, Jen said.
“The smallest of the litter was Clock. I was so concerned that she wouldn’t survive.
“She is really entertaining and enjoys chasing after her mother and siblings’ tails. She also curls up in my lap first. She is extremely courageous and strong “Love Meow heard from Jen.
“When she arrived, I had no idea how she was still alive. She embodies the phrase “small yet mighty.” She didn’t want to fail to live and prosper.”
“Last night, Goose stayed in my arms for more than five minutes while receiving constant head scratches. When I call her, she comes running. She’s still got kitten vigour. She is, in essence, a true diamond.”
