The cat, named Thumper, vanished from his Maine home in October.
For the previous five years, the shaggy brown and white cat had become accustomed to going outside. Because of the large acreage at their old home, he could explore it safely while his humans were nearby.
Katy Kerry, his human, had recently relocated to a temporary location after selling her Saco home of ten years. She soon had larger relocation plans for Utah.
Several days after the relocation, Thumper slipped out when Kerry was bringing groceries into the rental house.
Thumper’s passing was tragic.
They tried everything in their power to locate him, including creating flyers and posting on social media. Additionally, they got in touch with nearby neighbors, the animal shelter, and animal control, according to WGME13. Sadly, they fail to mention Thumper’s microchip.
The women began to lose hope as Kerry got ready to move across the country.
The two women both relocated by December. Kerry’s daughter moved back to Boston when she started a new life in Utah.
Thumper, who was still conscious, was attempting to get to his familiar house.
