An animal shelter in Phoenix, Arizona called Jin’s Bottle Babies early this month regarding a cat that had been abandoned on a doorstep while the mother was giving birth.
The homeowners assisted the cat during delivery but were concerned because she was under a lot of stress and unable to care for her young. Jin’s Bottle Babies founder Shelbi Uyehara said, “My gut was telling me to intake them and figure out the specifics later, so we did.
The cat family was given a place to call home by Shelbi’s husband, Brandon, and they organised transportation to transfer them to safety.
When the kittens arrived, they were chilly, so Brandon put them in an incubator to get them warm. He supplemented them with a bottle once their body temperatures had stabilised and then returned them to their mother, who was understandably still afraid and wary following the lengthy ordeal.
The cat mother slowly started to unwind in her peaceful space and cosy home. Shelbi told Love Meow that Brandon eventually let the babies to nurse after setting up a camera so he could see from a distance.
