While many individuals are struggling to care for themselves, let alone their pets, as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, other people simply cannot turn away an animal in need.
Shea Prior noticed a stray cat hanging out in her yard a few months ago and was pleasantly delighted when the cat finally trusted her enough to accept food from her. Prior noticed the cat was producing milk and had kittens nearby.
Shea Prior saw this cute kitten roaming around her yard a few months back. It took some time to persuade the cat that she was not a threat and to get her close enough for Prior to feed her. She had no idea she was assisting a mama cat at the time, but she spotted the cat produce milk a couple of days into their new feeding pattern.
“I was patting her and going to take her up when I discovered she had milk in her and had been nursing some babies,” Prior explained. She was ecstatic at her realisation and eager to rescue the kittens, so she assumed she’d simply ask the cat to show her her family.
