Senior cat Meece, who has lived in a shelter for the longest, has finally found a home

Meece shares the tragic fate of countless other geriatric cats consigned to life in shelters. They come from a variety of backgrounds, yet they are all doomed to an isolated existence.

When health problems start, some animals’ owners leave them behind. When people relocate and don’t care to take them with them, others are left behind. And almost all of them go unnoticed by potential parents looking for cuddly, fluffy kittens.

The charming older black cat Meece, though, spent the longest time at the shelter.

Since February 20th, 2020, the staff at Anne Arundel County Animal Care & Control in Maryland has had the pleasure of hosting her. They couldn’t understand why the vivacious girl was passed over day after day.

People frequently overlook the fact that kittens still have growing personalities when they adopt them. You can never predict how they will turn out. However, this senior’s best quality was that it was simple to tell what her personality was like.

She’s about ten years old and describes herself as “nice and spunky.” She quickly fit in after overcoming her trepidation of being in an unfamiliar setting.
