Meet Piran, who deservedly merits a spot in the hall of fame for brave cats. He was taking his old human for a morning stroll around their farm in Bodmin, Cornwall, UK, when it started off like any other day.
Tragic events still occurred as his loyal human fell 70 feet through barbed wire and into a creek!
Piran started meowing in the hopes that someone would hear him because that’s what heroic cats do. And as luck would have it, the 83-year-old woman’s companion actually did that. They wisely alerted Tamar Longmuir, the woman’s neighbour, to the problem.
Longmuir started looking over her neighbor’s farm right away to see why the cat would be making such a racket.
But despite her best attempts, she was unable to locate the homeowner.
Other family members soon joined the search. At this point, they recognised Piran was acting very strangely. He was meowing at them loudly and persistently from within the fence that led to a field of maize. And Tamar’s alarm was raised by it.
There was no way to know what might be hidden behind the sea of stalks because the corn only reached a height of 7 feet. Tamar yelled frantically for the lost woman, undettered, as she made her way around the wide field on a tiny path.
She waited for a few seconds before hearing a hushed voice. And when the gravity of the situation was finally made clear, her heart leaped.
