As the finest rescue cat in his category for 2021, Mikey the one-eyed cat took home a National Cat Award.
The awards are presented annually as a “celebration of the friendship of cats” by the top UK charity Cats Protection.

Jessica withdrew from friends, family, and the world because she was so devastated by the loss and overcome with grief. And to make matters worse, she was also physically ill and needed to have her blood pressure treated.
One day, Mikey needed a home, so Jessica’s buddy unannouncedly called. The cat had endured a lot of hardship as a stray on the streets. One of his eyes had to be removed because of an abscess.
He needed to be loved and given the attention he needed to get well again.
Something told Jessica that she needed to take a chance at that precise moment. She then took the former stray home with her from Cats Protection. It turned out that the choice had a permanent impact on her life.
