Missing cat discovered seven years later 10 miles from family home

Seven long years had passed since the disappearance of the Lapthorne family’s beloved cat Kiki.

Their daring torbie girl had vanished in Suffolk, England’s Stowmarket region. They finally came to terms with her absence from their life.

The stray cat was recently taken in as a stray by a nearby shelter. Additionally, the employees at the Haughley & Thurston Vets in Stowmarket had adhered to their established procedures. They performed a microchip scan on her during her initial examination.

They tracked down her birth family using the data stored in the microchip database. They were startled to learn that Kiki had been discovered ALIVE. Furthermore, she was discovered 10 miles from the house!

She probably managed to locate a feral colony or a stray one to live with. Regular feeders and colony guardians visit “clowders” of outdoor cats every day to provide food and keep an eye on their wellbeing.

Contrary to popular belief, this doesn’t necessarily draw in more cats. Cats will typically stay in the region provided there is controlled care and food sources (human or natural) available. If they are eliminated, it won’t take long for others to take their place.
