Ali Safa anticipated having a relaxing day. His only plans were to relax and play video games at home in Canberra, Australia.
He walked outside to relax in the yard and take in some sunshine. But before he realised it, he was dozing off.
He was not alone himself when he woke up.
The Dodo quoted Safa as saying, “I was taking a nap on the balcony of our house and, around two hours later, I woke up and I discovered her peacefully napping on my tummy.” I initially believed she was a rat.
Safa had a little white kitten lying over her belly, purring happily. Something softened in his heart as he gazed at her pink, hairless ears and filthy little paws.
Safa claimed, “I never really had a pet and I am a little bit of a loner so I don’t have many friends, either. I kept hearing kittens purring as she was sleeping, and it was the nicest thing I had ever heard.
While stray cats were common in Safa’s area, this one stood out. It seemed as though the kitten had picked him in some way.
Safa quickly took a selfie with the sleeping cat while still in shock, taking care not to wake her.
After the kitty finished her portion, Safa brought her inside to take a bath. After ten minutes, he recognised that the grey blotches on her fur were not dirt but rather markings. Safa started to think about adopting the kitten as she waited patiently in the water.
I was like, “Screw it, I’m keeping her,” Safa recalled. “There really aren’t any house rules against dogs in my family and she seemed like she can use some family.”
