Toodles the stray cat was being attacked by a dog when Mindy Brocato, an employee at the Anne Arundel County Animal Care & Control, ran to the shelter and saved her life.
Early in April, when Toodles came at the shelter, workers immediately recognised that she was a new mother.
She displayed all the characteristics of a nursing mother, but her kittens were nowhere to be discovered, according to Chris Weinstein, a shelter worker.
The workers of the shelter swiftly warned nearby households to be on the lookout for kittens because they wouldn’t survive without the protection of their mother.
Fortunately, later that week, neighbours found five kittens under a mobile home and called the shelter to ask for assistance.
The five kittens were quickly reunited with their mother cat by the shelter staff.
