Blind kitten Blinkin was abandoned on the streets by his owners. He was just five or six weeks old when Melissa discovered him. She took the kitten home and gave him a second chance at life because she loved him so much the instant she met him.
JD, Melissa’s large dog, doesn’t seem to be particularly aware of his size. She was therefore concerned that they wouldn’t get along when she brought Blinkin home. JD didn’t care about Blinkin, she reasoned.
Every time she asked him to look at the cat, he simply turned his head and continued to look at other things.
Melissa nevertheless permitted their relationship because she had faith that JD wouldn’t harm Blinkin. Blinkin is blind, yet he’s still cute and playful. Having a new playmate made him incredibly happy.
JD miraculously didn’t harm Blinkin. Just like him, he did. He did nothing but watch while the cat inspected him. He even gave him a sniff in return and gave him a light nose cuddle.
Melissa was initially hesitant to allow them to play, but now the two are close friends.
