The Greenpoint area of Brooklyn, New York City, is home to the nonprofit trap-neuter-release (TNR) organisation known as Greenpoint Cats. One day, they learned that some kittens had been spotted at an auto repair shop from another neighbourhood group, Los Sures Cats Williamsburg.
The bigger issue, though, was that the kittens were residing near the hazardous equipment. That is not a good place for kittens to live!
At that point, Los Sures Kitties and Greenpoint Cats joined together to rescue the cats. There were only two cats when they came in a battered cardboard box.
Where did the other four go, though, as the rescuers had heard there were six kittens? Fortunately, the shopkeeper had found new homes for the other four.
The names for the two kittens had to be related to cars, of course. As a result, Greenpoint chose the tire-related names Purrelli and Michelin! The rescuers then recorded a video of their meeting with the two fortunate cats and posted it to Instagram.
They examined them after taking them out of the cardboard box. The cats were quite nonchalant about the situation! These grease monkeys needed a good bath when they were first taken out of the box since they were so filthy. The two fuzzy puppies first refused to take a bath until they grew accustomed to everyone around them.
After a while, Purrelli and Michelin started to calm down a little bit, but they were still giving everyone the “mean mug” and, to top it off, a few hisses.
