Kitten finds cat who doesn’t hesitate to take him in after arriving as an orphan

Excellent pals Cassiopeia (also known as Cassie), a loving pregnant cat in need of a foster home, was adopted by Felines, a rescue organisation in Brisbane, Australia.

Her tummy continued to grow over the next weeks, and on a Friday morning she gave birth.

We learned about a little 48 gramme, 3-day-old kitten in need of a bottle sitter or surrogate mama cat shortly after her second child was born, Best Friends Felines said.

He didn’t stand a good chance of succeeding, but if we were prepared to give him a shot with Cassie and she accepted him, then he at least had a chance.

The small preemie was quickly picked up by rescue volunteers after a 90-minute round trip. When he arrived, Cassie had already given birth.

They delicately set the abandoned infant close to the cat mother and prayed for the best. “To our relief, Cassie warmed up to him right away and began grooming him. The youngster was a fighter and appeared to be robust, yet he need a lot of assistance to latch onto the nursing.”

According to Best Friends Felines, “Cassie ended up having a fairly lengthy day and didn’t give birth to her sixth and last kid until just before 10PM.”
