Emilie (@emiliexfosters), an animal rescuer and foster parent, was contacted around a month ago with a request to assist a litter of preterm kittens.
A feral cat that had been taken in as part of a rescue effort and was between 7 and 8 months old turned out to be pregnant.
Emilie told Love Meow, “We think that because of the stress, she went into early labour and ended up giving birth to five infants.
The litter gradually degenerated after the mother quit taking care of the kittens the following morning. Fievel (the kitten) ended up being the only survivor despite their best and most extensive efforts to save them all. He was fighting for his life with everything he had.
When Fievel and Emilie entered foster care, he was in severe condition. Emilie told Love Meow, “He was chilly to the touch, couldn’t lift his head, and was having problems breathing.
Because I was tube-feeding him every hour to make sure his blood sugar was up, the first five days were quite tense.
