Keller, His ‘Seeing-Eye Cat’ Mama, and Adopted Kitten Friend Astound the Shelter

When Keller, a blind cat, and his mother first arrived to an Iowa animal shelter, they had no idea what to expect.

Two stray tuxedo cats were reported to the Sioux City Animal Center on a Monday in August. They turned out to be the most inseparable cat pair the shelter vice president had ever seen.

The male cat, who is 9–12 months old, looked to be born without eyes, and the female, who is believed to be his protective mother and is between 1–2 years old.

Amazingly, the mother cat served as the “seeing-eye cat” for her youngster, leading him around. Wall claims that the two “bounce off each other” and never drift apart.

The two cats got along well and waited to see whether their owner would come and claim them.

After a month, the owner of the pair still had not stepped forward. By the end of September, the news had once more featured the remarkable pair, but this time with well-known names and the addition of a new cat.
