Four years after being bitten by his cat, a man passes away

Four years after being bitten by his cat, a man passed away as a result of the cat’s flesh-eating germs infecting his blood and ultimately killing him.

In 2018, Henrik Kriegbaum Plettner of Denmark made the decision to adopt a cat and her kittens from a shelter, according to the Daily Mail.

However, he bit his index finger in August 2018 when attempting to move one of the kittens.

Henrik initially dismissed the cat bite as he would expect most people to do. However, when his finger began to swell, he became concerned.

Henrik made the decision to consult a doctor because his finger had doubled in size.

He finally found himself in Denmark’s Kolding hospital after a number of consultations, where he was hospitalised for a month and underwent an astounding 15 procedures.

But none of them worked, and Henrik had the bitten finger removed because it was no longer usable.

However, the cat’s bite into a blood vessel caused Henrik’s condition to start to worsen.

Four years after the initial cat bite, Henrik passed away in October of this year. His family has now made their presence known in an effort to raise awareness of cat bites.
