An adorable tale of a dog nursing a newborn cat alongside her puppies recently went viral online. Everyone was moved by the touching tale, which even managed to soften the hearts of stone.
It demonstrates that mother’s love knows no boundaries and is true for all species.
A Doberman Pinscher named Ruby resides in the town of Geneseo in upstate New York with her owner Brittany Callan. She accepted and reared an abandoned newborn cat as if she were her own puppy just a week after giving birth to a litter of six puppies.
Callan discovered the kitten in the grass and gave it the name Ramblin’ Rose. She was reminded of Ruby, who had just given birth to pups, when she saw the lost cat.
She brought the tiny blind infant home in the hopes that when Ruby saw the defenceless kitten, her maternal instincts would surface. Thankfully, it succeeded. Rose was licked by Ruby as if she were her mother.
Callan told Daily Paws, “[Ruby] took right to her and didn’t seem to mind at all. She grew up with small animals [and learned] to be nice and just lick them and be friendly with everything.
She is simply an incredibly, incredibly compassionate dog.
