Despite all the obstacles, the kitten uses her fierce will to catch up to her littermates

A request for assistance for a litter of eight kittens that had been taken into a nearby shelter was made to Caroline Grace, the organization’s founder (in Los Angeles). They were in poor health and dealing with numerous health problems.

Caroline told Love Meow, “When I opened the box carrier with them in it from the shelter, I was astonished at what I saw. Two kittens (Ruby and Emmy) were gasping for air as they all lay unmoving on their sides.

The kittens’ body temperatures needed to be stabilised, so Caroline started critical care for the litter and placed the kittens in an incubator.

She administered hydration therapy and glucose supplements to treat hypoglycemia. They all had infections, including calicivirus, which can cause mouth ulcers and upper respiratory disorders. There were eight of them. Ruby, the smallest cat among them, was in the worst condition.

She was just a newborn’s size when she was two weeks old. She was fighting an uphill battle and required constant tube feeding due to her difficulty breathing and ulcers around her lips.
