Having a pet is an unforgettable experience, particularly if you are over 75. They are treated as your children, and you find it impossible to picture your life without them. A recent incident included an Australian fisherman and his dog who were out on the water off the coast of Melbourne.
Alfonse Attard noticed that the fishing boat had a leak while he and his Jack Russell Terrier, Jack, were about a kilometre away from Altona Beach. The boat overturned in the early morning.
Attard was launched into the water. The miserable man clung to the fishing boat in the hopes that help would arrive. Attard was fortunately noticed by two fishermen, Laurie Borg and his son Trever.
When Attard was returned to the shore, the 75-year-old began to worry about his dog Jack. Since Attard had had the Terrier for more than 18 years, the owner was worried about his security.
At that point, the Altona Life Saving Club and the water police went back to look for the Jack Russell Terrier. The Terrier was discovered within the boat’s nose when they turned over the capsized vessel.
The brave dog had walked through the seawater for a considerable amount of time before being rescued, and all the helpers believed there must have been an air pocket. Finally, the volunteers managed to rescue Jack, who was then reunited with his owner.
The business owner was ecstatic and jumped up and down. Attard thought that a loose plug under the boat was the source of the leak. Despite the accident, neither of the two became afraid to go boating. The following day, the daring two returned to fishing.
