A pair of kittens were in need of assistance, and Nashville Cat Rescue’s volunteer Becca and Nathan were approached.
They were discovered beneath a house with no sign of their mother. They were taken in by the finders, who attempted to bottle-feed them but soon realised they required expert care.
Rory, a calico, and Phil, a grey cat, were brought to Nashville Cat Rescue to be hand-reared constantly. The smallest of the two, Phil, was facing overwhelming odds at the young age of just one week.
Becca and Nathan told Love Meow that after a few days of using a bottle feeder, Phil was not doing well and both he and Rory were severely underweight.
At that time, the couple was caring for a cat who was nursing her own litter of three kittens and had been discovered as a stray. They wanted to try putting the orphaned kittens with the mother because they knew that Phil had problems feeding and sorely needed sustenance.
