Everything was uncertain within the first several months of Jolie’s life. She was discovered as a stray in Florida and was then passed around between shelters and foster homes. She only wanted to find a secure place where she could finally relax, and when her future mother, Deanna McCallum, found out about her, she felt she could provide that.
“She’d been at Cape Ann Animal Aid for quite some time before I was able to meet her through Zoom,” “I realised she needed a caring home right away.”
Following that Zoom chat, McCallum made the decision to adopt Jolie and provide her with the permanent home she had always desired. She couldn’t see Jolie in person before picking her up, and when she came, she was already snuggled into her carrier, so McCallum simply grabbed the carrier and drove home. When Jolie poked her head out of her carrier for the first time, she saw her new home and mother for the first time.
“When we came home, she was quite nervous!” “I unzipped her carrier and let her explore for a time,” McCallum explained.
“While she took a few weeks to come up to me, Jolie is the sweetest cat I’ve ever encountered,” McCallum remarked. “She’s never hissed at me, scratched me, or attempted to bite me.” She has never behaved out in her life. She’s just a wonderful soul who needs a loving home, and I’m so grateful to have her with me.”
Jolie knew she was finally where she was supposed to be the instant she popped her head out of her container.
