Nobody anticipated what happened when a wild cat at the Folsom City Zoo wandered into the bear enclosure. A 550-pound black bear and a wild cat who was ambling around the zoo in search of food struck formed an unexpected friendship, according to zookeepers.
She began entering the exhibit and eating the dog food because we sprinkle dog food for the bears every morning, according to senior lead zoo keeper Jill Faust. “We started leaving food out for her in the morning once she started coming in here on a daily basis.”
The cat was given the nickname Little Bear after staff members noticed her following a 550-pound bear named Sequoia, according to senior lead zookeeper Jill Faust. “She’ll walk right past Sequoia as he passes her by,” Sequoia said.
Faust predicted that they will remain somewhat close to one another. Little Bear is said to ignore the other bears in the zoo but has a “special relationship” with Sequoia, according to the zoo.
