Ikar, a former Tactical Explosive Detection Dog for Army Specialist Vance McFarland, had been left behind. Since Mission Canine Rescue and the U.S. War Canines Association intervened to reunite these dogs with their lawful owners after a three-year separation, a reunion has already begun.
As McFarland waited for the dog to arrive, he added, “I hope he remembers me.” And the dog sure would! Ikar dashes into the arms of his former combat partner the moment he saw him.
What a charming scene! It’s only fitting that these two are back together because they have meant so much to one other for such a long time.
