After they survived together with the help of family, the cat lavishes her lone kitten

A tabby cat that was heavily pregnant was turned in to Indianapolis Animal Care Services about a month ago. She gave birth to a litter of four shortly after arriving, necessitating the immediate need for a foster home.

Animal rescue organisation IndyHumane offered their assistance and took them in the following day. She and the kittens entered foster care with me when they were just two days old, according to Jennifer, an IndyHumane volunteer, who spoke to Love Meow.

Bunny the cat was a loving mother from the beginning. Dash, an orange tabby cat, was the largest newborn of the litter.

Things started to get worse a few days later when Bunny had a serious upper respiratory illness (URI). Bunny lost his appetite and was unable to make enough milk, so it soon became apparent that the kittens needed help.

“In order for Bunny to receive more supportive care, the family travelled to IndyHumane’s ICU. Sadly, despite assistance, three of the four kittens didn’t make it through the URI, leaving Dash as a sole survivor.”
