Crunchy wasn’t feeling well when Stray Rescue of St. Louis arrived. The 2-year-old pup could scarcely see through his thick fur mats, and he was in a lot of agony.
Thankfully, Crunchy was taken in as an emergency case by Missouri rescue and given the transformation of a lifetime.
“Crunchy was picked up by our local animal control,” Natalie Thompson, the rescue’s head of marketing, told The Dodo. “They contacted us to ask if we could assist him, and we [did], instantly seizing him and going to work.”
Thompson defined “labour” as cutting the 10-pound pup’s matted hair and nursing Crunchy back to health.
“When he initially woke up after being drugged, shaved, and cleaned, he was quite afraid,” Thompson added. “He’d snap and hide, but he liked being nestled in.”
Crunchy gradually warmed up to everyone who looked after him and began lying in their laps.
“We’ll never forget the day he started playing and displaying his endearing personality,” Thompson said.
“There was a lengthy queue of people waiting for Crunchy to be cleared for adoption,” Thompson explained. “He has been adopted and will never be abandoned again.” They adore him already!”
Crunchy’s new life can begin now that he’s been transformed from rags to riches — and he couldn’t be happier.
