Annie Rahe decided to peek at the Christmas decorations in the festive section while grocery shopping.
A tiny black and white kitty was fast asleep between two wooden pallets as she turned the corner with her grocery cart. He appeared to be alone himself.
Once Annie located a salesperson, she learned that the kitten had been abandoned in the parking lot and had been creeping into the store to hide between the pallets. The store’s employees had made several unsuccessful attempts to entice him out.
Annie went to the pet supplies section after hearing this and got some tins of cat food.
She told The Dodo, “He was so little and grubby – the notion of him staying there alone devastated my heart. “I wasn’t going anywhere without him,”
When she came back with the food, she immediately set it down on the ground in front of the kitten, who immediately ran over and started munching. This kept him preoccupied long enough for Annie to seize him and place him in a cardboard box she had discovered in a trash can.
This would safeguard him until she returned to the pet department and bought a cat carrier to get him home safely.
