On “Free Cat Friday,” Nathaniel and Elliot Green headed to the Lynchburg Humane Society in hopes of adopting a Siamese cat.
They had no idea that a stunning blind cat would actually choose them.
Hello, Merlin!
My coworker actually persuaded me to go in since she had recently gotten a gorgeous kitty from there, Elliott explains. Nathanial and I were looking through their cat adoption page and had our sights set on a Siamese kitten.
However, he said, “by the time I got off work.” “They were all either waiting to be adopted or on hold.”
Although Merlin was blind and had been available for adoption for some time, it seemed that no one would want to take in a blind cat.
According to the personnel at the shelter, Merlin had no major problems adjusting to his surroundings because he was a really laid-back person who enjoyed cuddling.
Unfortunately, Merlin had some health problems when the Greens adopted him; his new parents were concerned because they had no understanding why he was having seizures on a regular basis.
He had a wheat allergy, they learned after doing some investigation. Thankfully, Merlin has remained in excellent health ever since they switched to wheat-free cat chow.
Merlin is a cat with a very striking appearance; he has rather different features since he is a member of the rare hybrid breed known as a Napoleon, which is a cross between a Persian and a Munchkin cat.
It’s a fairly new kind, according to recent
Napoleons are quite little, but they can move around as easily as cats of similar size. Most of their physical traits are inherited from the Persian.
The Greens are overjoyed that they were able to locate Merlin since “he’s a loving cat who enjoys being greeted and held. Elliot added, “He’s never destructive or petty either.
He truly has no idea of fear because he was born blind, therefore he will try to jump off of quite high heights. He won’t race up to the door to meet us and jump all over our guests who are sitting on the couch; he doesn’t hide or avoid people. He likes to sit on someone’s lap.
Watermelon is a favourite dish of both Merlin and Elliot, therefore they frequently indulge in it as a reward.
More than two years have passed since Merlin first moved in with the Greens, and everyone enjoys their time spent together.
His own Instagram page, which they also put up, has more than 80,000 followers.
