After being forbidden from having a catflap by his landlord, a cat lover builds a homemade ladder for his cat!

UNITED KINGDOM – A brilliant renter deserves a round of applause for his creation—a beautiful handcrafted ladder—which he created to allow his pet cat to enter and exit his home after his landlord forbade a catflap.

26-year-old Tariq Khoyratty constructed the 7-meter ladder, which is 15 cm wide, for less than £25 using four 6 foot decking planks and wood strips.

His 26-year-old partner Nikki Wheeler came up with the plan after their estate agent forbade them from installing a catflap on the back doors of their Grade II-listed, 17th-century cottage.

Nelson, their five-month-old ginger tom cat, has been dashing up and down the wooden structure ever since they built and installed it on Saturday, October 8.

It is fastened to the couple’s first-floor bedroom window with a bungee cord that is simple to untangle.

At first, we weren’t sure if he’d use the ladder, so we created a small practise one that we leaned against the downstairs window, according to Tariq, an Oxford University PhD candidate in Immunology.

“Once he became accustomed to it, we used treats to entice him onto the taller ladder, and he adapted to it fast.
