A brave 12-year-old breaks the windshield to save a baby from a hot car

On one of the hottest days of the year in Tulsa, Oklahoma, a 12-year-old boy cracked the glass of a car to save a toddler who was stuck inside. It all began when he heard screaming coming from a car parked in a department store parking lot.

The 12-year-old boy and his mother were walking inside a store when they heard a baby sobbing inside a car. They peered inside and discovered the car was locked with the toddler inside. According to Fox 23, the heat index for the day reached 116 degrees, so the youngster and his mother didn’t think twice about breaking into the car to save the infant.

He grabbed a metal strap and began bashing the window to the automobile, ultimately moving to the windshield and making larger cracks. He was able to stomp on the windshield some more before entering the car to unlock it and free the infant.

The baby was fine, according to the news station, despite being red-faced from the extreme heat. The police arrived on the scene and found the mother of the infant inside the shoe store, where they fined her but did not arrest her for child neglect.

After the incident, his mother posted photographs of the smashed windshield on social media, writing, “This is what happens when you leave a baby inside a locked car with the windows rolled up.”
