There is a particular facility in Florida that will treat the bobcats that were found in inappropriate situations. Until they are able to be released back into the wild, they are kept as far away from people as possible.
Two homeowners were enjoying a quiet Sunday as they lounged in their backyard and watched hummingbirds. That is, until a 3-month-old kitten of a bobcat strolled into their yard and passed out near the flowerbeds!
In order to save the helpless newborn Byrdie, Jamie, the president of Big Cat Rescue, hopped in her car and drove the three and a half hours to the rescue.
Humans. Because there was a site the homeowner was likely aware of where the tiny bobcat kitten most likely originated.
Byrdie will, thankfully, avoid what happened to dozens of other animals who got lost, were all by themselves, and had to fight off cars on empty roads. She will remain at BCR, where she was welcomed into the long-running, effective Bobcat Rehab programme.
She may be a little underweight now, but they will work with her to gain weight in no time. She will be released in a legally defined region once she is mature enough and capable of hunting on her own.
