A 14-year-old boy dives under a bridge to save a cat that is hanging over it

A 14-year-old boy sped to save a cat that was dangling off a freeway overpass. The tabby clung to his saviour and wouldn’t let go since he was so appreciative of being saved.

Meet Gavin, the man who saved Lucky the cat.

Erin Brown was taking her son Gavin to a birthday celebration on Sunday, February 12, when she saw something that made her gasp in disbelief.

In front of them, a moving car threw a cat out a window. Her son, Gavin, sped out of the vehicle as she came to a stop to get to the cat and signalled for oncoming cars to stop.

According to Brown, who spoke with Love Meow, “he went to the flyover right by me and got on top of the overpass preparing to leap down. He was in shock watching the cat crash the pavement and skitter all over the highway.”

Gavin leaped out of the vehicle, dashed to the bridge, and snatched the distressed cat.

Not sure if I’m more shocked by my son rushing out of my car into the highway and diving onto an overpass to rescue a cat or the cat being thrown out a moving vehicle’s window on I-196.

The trauma caused the cat to breathe laboriously. He tried to hold the concrete so tightly that his nails were torn out.

At his new home, Lucky is thriving and making a full recovery.

The two friends developed a strong bond. Lucky is aware that Gavin saved him, and the closeness between them is something I simply cannot put into words, Brown added. “I have yet to meet a cat as sweet as Lucky! He is very laid-back, fun, and simply endearing!”
