I would like to believe that this family’s early choices were influenced by their care facility. Their senior cat was abandoned when their relatives passed away roughly four years ago.
However, there were hisses when the mourners tried to bring their deceased loved ones’ bodies home. Hisses coming from a clearly disturbed cat whose world was in upheaval after losing its humans.
They didn’t want to take the 8-year-old cat to a shelter where they knew his current aloofness would probably result in his death. They decided to leave the cat alone where it was safe.
However, some claim that what they did was worse than death in light of the outcome. And they did keep him fed. They did indeed empty the litter boxes. His heart was empty, but he had a roof over his head.
Eventually, word spread about the cat known as Sparky when the weeks became into months and then into years.
The neglected cat was discovered by an animal rescuer and another fosterer for a nearby shelter. Finally, the family had made the decision to list the house for sale. Which meant the cat would need to leave the house.
He would have to visit a shelter in order to be considered for adoption, as he originally ought to have.
