In Grand Forks, British Columbia, not far from the US border, a little male bobcat afterwards known as Tucker was perched alone and fighting for his life by the side of the road.
On July 7, a call concerning the orphan reached Langley’s rescuers at the Critter Care Wildlife Society, six hours to the west by automobile.
The bobcat kitten was then graciously granted a ride by a generous volunteer so they could meet with rescuers in Osoyoos.
For the following 15 hours, two members of the Critter Care staff, Nathan and Brandon, would work to save Tucker. They started out by filling the truck with supplies and making the lengthy trip to Osoyoos.
The mayors of Osoyoos and Rossland were waiting to welcome the rescuers when they arrived.
Tucker was in critical condition and weighed only 600 grams, or about 1.3 pounds, when Nathan and Brandon got there.
On their way back to the wildlife rehabilitation facility, the two men made several stops to tend to Tucker.
