Senior cats like Johnny and Queenie demonstrate how elderly cats have developed character and purrsonality like a superb wine.
Although Johnny may have a surly appearance, he is a kind survivor. Johnny managed to outlive a cruelly dementia-afflicted owner who occasionally failed to feed him. He thus shrank considerably.
Thankfully, the resilient cat arrived to Purrfect Cat Rescue in Crystal Lake, Illinois.
We adore Johnny’s “attitude” and stern, mature cat face, which makes us think of a sage old owl (and some people we know). Although he won’t put up with any bullshit or sass, he will happily accept all the treats and cuddles.
The rescuers shared Johnny’s photo shoot results to ring in the new year.
Johnny is currently looking for a family to love him and give him a permanent home. He’ll be the ideal company for apartment dwellers or those who value peaceful time because he’s an older chap.
Notably, senior cats can also be wonderful companions for people with health issues because they are easier to care for and less inclined to scratch during high-intensity kitten play.
