Having survived the Marshall Fire, this cat is now being searched for by rescuers

The December 30 Marshall Fire, one of the most catastrophic in Colorado’s history, was survived by an orange tabby cat that was 8 years old.

He was located by rescuers in Louisville, one of the most severely affected evacuated communities that burned for two days.

To give you an indication of the size, the fire consumed around 6,200 acres, destroyed 1,000 homes, and led to the evacuation of 35,000 people.

Despite all of this, the cat somehow managed to escape the catastrophic fire. A few days later, on January 4, he was discovered and taken to the Humane Society of Boulder Valley by rescuers.

Unfortunately, this cat, whose number is currently 49568957, had severe burns as a result of the fire. The Humane Society notes that he has made “amazing development,” though. They are now looking for his family in the hopes that he would return home.

He’s been getting the best care possible because of them.
