Earlier last month, Holly Young was taking her dog Nugget for a typical stroll when she spotted something unusual.
She could hear the tiniest meow near an elementary school above the dog barking from across the street. “The meowing stopped as we continued to move forward.
When I picked up Nugget to quietly make my way back, the meowing resumed “Telling Love Meow, Holly.
She was shocked to see a tiny cat silhouette against the street light as she peered up into the surrounding high tree.
“There were no branches for her to jump off of as she was around 25 feet above. I was unable to reach her despite calling.”
The following day Holly made contact with the school in an effort to get some help. She also contacted the fire department and the Humane Society in her community, but neither could assist.
“That evening, a friend with an extension ladder dropped by. I climbed up to her, but she backed up out of reach.”
After learning about the predicament, the landlord of the building across the street offered his extension ladder. A tenant also arrived to offer assistance. The cat knew Holly by that point and didn’t run away when she saw her again.
The worn-out cat relaxed and allowed Holly to safely pet her and bring her down.
