The cat who “supervises” at the Tiverton Police Department in Rhode Island is named Officer Scrappy.
She has reportedly worked for the department for years, patrolling the perimeter to look out for pests.
Scrappy is also the division’s “compassion cat,” serving as a daily source of encouragement as part of her duties.
Officer Scrappy can be seen in a recent video posted by the Tiverton Police Department “supervising” shift changes. As an officer passes, the cat gives a fist bump in agreement as you can see below.
Below, the team is assembled for ordinary police work, and Scrappy is a member of the group.
She does actively participate in daily activities, as you can see. But is there truly a treat there, or is Scrappy just helping with the investigation?
Thankfully, the police department unveiled Officer Scrappy on Facebook in May.
