Chonk Cat, 30 Lbs, Gets New Owners Willing To Help Her Get Well

Meet Lasagna, a 5-year-old moggy cat with a chubby build who has recently gained internet fame for her sweetness.

The sad cat, named Lasagna, was dumped in Hunting Park, which is close to the ACCT Philly shelter in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was 13.15 kg when she was rescued. This is around the weight of a tiny pit bull dog or a three-year-old child.

Nobody knows how Lasagna got so big, but the most common reason is that they eat too much and don’t exercise enough.

She was given the name Lasagna by the animal shelter in honour of Garfield, the well-known oange tabby cat from Jim Davis’ comic strips, who loved lasagna.

Lasagna is a very affectionate, gregarious, and self-assured cat who enjoys belly rubs, according to the shelter.

The weight of lasagna is over four times that which is deemed healthy. This could result in health issues like diabetes and heart disease if left untreated. Because of this, as soon as the shelter took her in, they started her on a special diet to help her manage her weight and get in shape.
