Andrey leads the cat to the veterinarian and it becomes clear that this is the case. Andrew was descended from the cat’s owner. He was a little, smart boy who always triumphed in dog fights and yearned to be with people all the time.
But eventually, he lost all of his strength and was unable to carry on as before. Poor Andrew had been sick for a year, according to his father, and Bernhard learned that he made noise every day as he went.
