Ziggy, now 1 years old, was adopted by Ruth Orme from Hertfordshire, England, when he was a kitten. Ziggy is quite daring and enjoys going on outdoor adventures. He would venture outside to look around, but he would always return.
Ziggy went for his customary stroll in 2011, but he never came back. Every night, Ruth and her boyfriend went hunting for Ziggy. They tried to track him down by posting fliers, shaking treat and food bags, and investigating suggestions about his whereabouts.
Ruth kept looking for Ziggy, but she was still unable to find him. Ruth’s dreams of locating him gradually grew dim as the years passed. After all this time, there was no doubt that either someone else had taken him in or the unthinkable could have occurred.
Ruth and her lover had split up a long time ago and were now residents of Royston, Herts. However, she eventually received a call from him about Ziggy eleven years later.
In ten years, Ziggy has gone through a lot! He was outside, and a Facebook user uploaded a photo of him to the Royston wildlife reporting page.
When a woman from the neighbourhood rescue group arrived to see if Ziggy was still there, he was, as expected. Ruth called after she checked him for a microchip during the scan.
What did Ziggy do for a decade and a half? He didn’t actually stray far from his house. Two lads allegedly discovered him on the Royston industrial estate and held him there for all those years. He most likely spent the most of his years as a stray and was fed by nearby houses, according to Ruth. But after all these years, would Ziggy be content in his “new” house with his previous owner?
