In the Kitten Bowl, we’ve witnessed cats “playing” sports by running over football fields. But have you ever seen a cat who likes to play goalkeeper in a football (or soccer, as we Americans call it) game?
A video of a fluffy black and white cat running after and tackling a ball on TikTok has gone viral. The cat used to lurk in the bushes and wait for the ball to arrive. The cat then launches an attack, grabbing onto the ball while rolling over and falling to the ground.
The video was shared by TikToker Wichi2702, who compared the cat to renowned Ecuadorian soccer (football) goalie Máximo Banguera. He has played for the Barcelona Sporting Club in hundreds of games there and is regarded as the best player there (BSC).
A few months later, the cat returned to TikTok, but this time the cat had improved. The attractive cat was now actively tackling the footballs while playing goalkeeper in front of a net. This cat’s seriousness is clear to see.
Days later, videos of the cat playing football became viral. The cat’s game was amazing this time, and the net was bigger. The cat leapt into the air to try to tackle the ball as it descended the grass, with varying degrees of success. But it’s hilarious to see the cat roll around on the grass, having fun, to catch the ball. Even by directly facing the camera, this cat appears to be aware that it is recording.
