kitten trapped under truck wheel on way to MSPCA for treatment

After getting his head stuck in the wheel of a truck in Lawrence last Friday, a four-week-old kitten is already making progress toward recovery.

According to the MSPCA, Lawrence animal control officers were attempting to capture the kitten and his siblings in order to remove them from the streets. When one of the kittens vanished, it made it difficult to contain the others.

Meaghan O’Leary, director of operations at the MSPCA Nevins Farm, stated that “this tiny guy got afraid and hid in the tyre.” “Until they heard him sobbing, nobody could find him. Simply put, it was heartbreaking.

When authorities saw the severity of the kitten’s wounds, they immediately took him to the Bulger Veterinary Hospital in Lawrence.

O’Leary reported that “our vets immediately cleaned him up, sutured a significant wound on his leg, and bandaged his foot,” while medical professionals cautioned that they will probably have to amputate a number of the animal’s toes.

According to a representative for the MSPCA, the kitten is having surgery this week and will need four to six weeks to recover. The kitten will then be placed in a foster home until he is old enough to be adopted after that.
