A little kitten was carried to the doctor last month by an Arizona guardian of a feral cat colony. When the tabby attempted to cross the street, a car struck her. She suffered incontinence and rear-leg paralysis as a result of the event.
She was taken in by Pima Animal Care Center, who also found her a temporary foster volunteer to care for her. The cat, Giselle, was incredibly composed throughout the entire ordeal despite everything, as if she knew she was in capable hands.
When Danielle, the creator of With Grace (in Las Vegas), learned about the kitten’s situation and realised how badly she needed a long-term, experienced fosterer, she volunteered to assist. Leanne M., a volunteer for SWATT Rescue, flew the kitten from Tucson to Las Vegas in the beginning of December.
When so many people come together to rescue a life, “it’s absolutely incredible what can be done,” Danielle told Love Meow.
“I could tell Giselle was unique the moment I first saw her. I melted when she gave me that up-close look with those huge eyes.”
Despite Giselle’s small size and impairment, which makes her barely one and a half pounds, she is unaffected by them. The kitten is determined to imitate all of the behaviours of other cats.
“She has no idea that she is unique from other cats. She is currently learning how to utilise ramps to climb up on furniture so she won’t feel left out and will be able to move about freely.”
