MARGARET – One of the most popular animal welfare PSAs on social media involves banging on the hood of your car to see if there might be a cat in your engine.
Stray cats will seek shelter in the warmed-up engines of parked cars during the chilly winter months.
In Baltimore City, where there is no shortage of vehicles lining the streets and they are so simple for chilled animals to climb up inside, that is exactly what happened to this cat.
BARCS posted on their Facebook page, “That is what we assume occurred to Hanover, a kitten who arrived into BARCS yesterday covered in wounds from head to toe, engine grease, and soot.
Hanover is grateful to be alive and is currently recuperating in the home of a skilled medical foster.
Hanover is reportedly eating and drinking according to his foster mother. Hanover is content to take a snooze on his comfortable bed as well as on her cool tile floor. He is taking antibiotics and painkillers, and he has numerous checkups scheduled with the BARCS vets and the hospital that is a partner with the Franky Fund.
Although this poor cat still has a long journey ahead of him, he has already endured the worst.
Hanover will start seeking for a forever home as soon as he is completely recovered.
