According to 33-year-old Kelly Cruse, her husband gave her an ultimatum: Either the cats left or he did. Kelly, who is now single, is content to share her home with 35 Snowshoes, a rare Siamese breed, five Chihuahuas, and a Doberman dog.
The content pet parent claims she is “completely loyal” to her cats no matter what, despite spending £15,000 year on vet bills, pet insurance, and food.
I wasn’t happy in the relationship, and at one point, he said, “It’s me or the cats,” according to Plymouth, Devon resident Kelly. I told him to leave since I don’t do well with orders to leave.
We are now a much happier family, although the kids still visit him frequently.
Award-winning cat breeder Kelly has contributed to the global promotion of the endangered Snowshoe breed. She had to make changes to her home to make it more cat friendly in order to reduce the major health hazards brought on by having so many cats within the house. Her living space’s walls are now covered in white plastic to stop odours and the spread of illness.
The cats were only Kelly’s for two litters before she found them a “permanent home” when they were two years old. But in the end, she does manage to give many of them a lifelong home.
