After being missing for 5 years, a small dog jumps into his mother’s arms

Paris didn’t recognise the folks in front of him at first. The small puppy hadn’t seen them in five years, but as soon as he recognised them, he leapt into his mother’s arms and refused to go.

“He started to recognise them and then simply wanted to be held,” Bob Swensen, an animal rescuer, told The Dodo. “It was the most wonderful feeling in the world.”

Swensen, a member of the Lost Animal Resource Group, was looking for another lost pet along a stretch of Baltimore city railway lines when a camera he’d set up to monitor for dogs told him that Paris had strayed into one of his traps.

Swensen explained, “I watched the video and observed the two little eyes going up into the trap.” “He was undoubtedly nervous and scared, but he handled it beautifully.” I got him home and settled him into my home office.”

Swensen was able to locate Paris’ true home with the assistance of Rachel Moxley of Microchip Help. Swensen soon found himself delighted as Paris and his family were reunited.

Swensen has been engaged in many pet rescues, but this one was especially personal to her.

“We’ve reunited thousands of lost pets,” Swensen added, “but this was exceptionally special.”
