A shelter received a 13-year-old cat that was looking for a new home. It was love at first sight when his new mother first met him.
Meet Jamie!
Senior Jamie is a devoted Burmese cat who was abandoned by his owner when she moved into a nursing home and was unable to take him with her.
He had cat flu, terrible teeth, and kidney issues when he initially arrived to the RSPCA Australia, but they provided him with the necessary medical attention.
The crew was still concerned that nobody would want such an aged cat. But then Sarah Dempsey appeared.
When I first met Jamie, he was dozing off, but as I knelt down to look at him, he woke up, Sarah said.
I put my hand through the enclosure’s slot because he seemed to want some pats, and he head-bumped me and purred in response.
“The staff later allowed him out to see how I was doing, and he was really kind. Knowing that he would save me from feeling alone and that I would do the same for him.
Because Jamie’s story has a happy ending and a new owner who loves him as much as he loves her, the concerned employees needn’t have worried.
Jamie quickly became at home in his new residence.
Sarah declared, “He won’t leave my side.” He headbumps, weaves between my legs, and is quite affectionate. In the evenings, he enjoys speaking with me and follows me about my apartment.
It’s comforting to know that Jamie will spend the rest of his days with his adoring mother in a new, permanent residence.
