If home is where the heart is, then Cleo the cat unquestionably belongs with Nancy Cowen, her permanent human.
When Cowen’s grandmother was transferred from her house in Westcott, England, to the nearby Bramley House Residential Home a time back, the fluffy cat was left behind.
It’s possible that this beautiful, loving cat, who was abandoned with a neighbour, wandered inside the nursing home, where she had never been before, in an effort to locate her long-lost owner.
About two weeks after Nancy moved in, this cat just started showing up and lying on the benches outside the house, according to Bramley House employee Laura Costello. It was quite odd.
The cat became friends with the staff at the facility, but Cowen wouldn’t find out who it was until she saw it hanging out around the property a few weeks later.
When one of the other caregivers took her up, Costello recounted, Nancy remarked, “That cat looks like my cat.” “But my cat lost part of her tail in a car accident,” she continued. The caregiver noticed that the cat she was holding was missing a portion of its tail. When Nancy’s sister arrived, she insisted that the woman was Cleo.
Cowen and Cleo will now remain together at the institution, where staff members have all pledged to take care of the cat and find her a home in the future if she needs one. It is clear that they are inseparable. Everyone is still unsure of how Cleo got there specifically at this time.
“I don’t know how she found her,”
Fiona Collins, a worker at Bramley House, told the Advertiser.
It’s kind of eerie, in a way.
