A cat that was 18 years old was simply left outside the shelter with a heartbreaking letter. The crew discovered the cat in a cage when they came in the morning and set out right once to locate her a new home.
The 18-year-old cat Tori was waiting in a box at the door and a message had been attached to the container, which stunned the workers at the Walter M. Crowe Animal Shelter in South Carolina. Because her previous owners were unable to care for her, they left her at the shelter after hours.
According to the note they discovered, Tori struggles to use the litter box and has an overgrown toenail. Tori’s owner was no longer able to care for her due to her own recent pregnancy and birth.
When senior cats are turned over to shelters at that age, many of them, like Tori, face an uncertain future. The team at the Walter M. Crowe Animal Shelter was committed to helping this elderly cat find the new, loving home she so richly deserved.
She is really sweet, and we will do everything in our power to help her, just like we do for every other animal in our shelter. But there are only so many things a shelter can do.
The shelter posted on Facebook, “We are hopeful that someone will step up to save this infant.
“She seems to be feeling much better now that we took her to the doctor and removed the three implanted toe nails from her paw! Because of how long the nails had grown, they had curled back into her paw pad. She has had all of her vaccinations updated and is presently taking an antibiotic.
Numerous people have expressed interest in adopting Tori after they shared her tale on Facebook.
Not long after, a man by the name of Dan adopted Tori.
Dan later wrote: “We are very excited to let you know that Tori has used her smaller box three times!
She has had all of her vaccinations updated and is presently taking an antibiotic.
